According to Popenko’s forecasts, in summer the cost of gas can increase to 9.5-10 UAH per cubic meter. meters that will not be so noticeable for Ukrainians in the warm season.
“It is difficult to count on its own production due to the situation on the front. In case of continuation of attacks of the Russian Federation on objects of distribution of gas supply in the regions – to provide the population will be a difficult task. Russia has already caused devastating blows in Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy region, Ternopil region and other areas,” he explained.
The state will have to release prices for blue fuel, as this step will ensure the normal passage of the future heating season.
It is estimated that Ukraine will have to buy 3-4 billion cubic meters of fuel, which is significant costs, since in the fuel market the price reaches about $ 500/cubic meter.
Recall that during the martial law in Ukraine there is a ban on raising tariffs for heat, gas and hot water. According to Law No. 2479-I, the moratorium on rising gas prices for the population is currently current, so the cost now remains unchanged-UAH 7.96 thousand per thousand cubic meters (VAT).
On the eve of the Cabinet of Ministers officially extended the operation of special duty (PSOs) on gas supply, so by the end of the heating season, that is, on April 30, 2025, gas prices for consumers are guaranteed not to change. It is, in particular, about household consumers, that is, the population, as well as producers of heat, electricity and operators of gas distribution systems.
We will add that prices for products are steadily increasing. For several months in a row, Ukrainians have been witnessing the relentless rise in price of most foods and food products on the shelves of stores.
And the European Commission considers the possibility of temporary restriction of gas prices against the background of their record growth.
