Details

On September 27, in Transcarpathia, two border guards crossed the border with a neighboring country while on duty and did not return. However, this incident became known only after the court decision against their colleague.

The court found the inspector on duty guilty of negligent attitude towards military service, noting that he made a false entry about contact with the patrol in the workbook, although in fact there was no contact. The inspector himself attributed this to the high workload and stated that he physically could not prevent the escape, as he was in the unit.

According to the court’s decision, his actions were classified under part 2 Art. 172-15 of the Code of Ukraine on administrative offenses. The inspector was fined 17 thousand hryvnias. It is known that the fugitives are residents of the Sumy region.
