Details: An Enstrom F-28A and an Enstrom 280C helicopter “collided in mid-air” around 11:25 a.m. local time (6:25 p.m. Kyiv time) near the Hammonton Municipal Airport, the Federal Aviation Administration said. According to the statement, only the pilots were on board the helicopters at the time of the collision.

The helicopters crashed in a field in Hammonton, and both victims were airlifted to a trauma center, Hammonton Fire Chief Sean Macri told CNN.

According to Macri, one of them was in a state of “possible cardiac arrest” when he was taken to the ambulance.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said it had opened an investigation into the crash, sending an investigator to the scene to collect flight path data, aircraft maintenance records, communications with air traffic control, witness statements and more.

“Once the wreckage of both helicopters has been documented, they will be transported to a safe location for further evaluation,” the NTSB said.
