The director and chief forester of the state -owned enterprise Berezhanyragrolis in Ternopil region became involved in criminal case due to mass illegal felling of trees, which caused losses for more than UAH 56.9 million.
According to the investigation, during 2023, officials without proper verification were introduced to the logging tickets information about the types of felling and plots, which allowed the cutting of more than 6 200 trees of different breeds.
According to the State Bureau of Investigation, the chief forester unreasonably included data on the possibility of 41 felling of Rarelyosya, and the director issued appropriate logging tickets. The prosecutor’s office emphasizes: “As a result of the illegal destruction of 6,267 trees of different breeds, the environment has been harmed for almost UAH 57 million.”
We will remind, the State Bureau of Investigation submitted to the court the case against the former management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kiev.
