On February 8, about 80,000 people remained without heating in the Russian regional center of Belgorod, bordering Ukraine, after shelling and accidents on utility networks. This was announced by the regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov. In addition, about three thousand townspeople were still without gas and about a thousand without electricity on Sunday morning.

According to Gladkov, “heroic efforts of energy workers” have not yet led to the restoration of heat supply.

In the buildings of the regional government, the administration of Belgorod and others, there are open heating points where you can charge your phones and sit in the warmth.

On the evening of February 7, a blackout occurred in Belgorod after a missile attack by the Ukrainian army. The authorities reported an attack on an “infrastructural object”. According to the OSINT analysts of ASTRA publication, Luch CHP, a gas-turbine thermal power plant, one of the main power and heating plants of Belgorod, which provides electricity and heat to part of the Kharkivska Gora microdistrict and other areas of the city, was under attack again.
