This is evidenced by exitpoli data, writes Digi24 with reference to the results of Curs and InsCop surveys.
It is noted that according to Exit Curs, Simion is leading with 33.1% of support. The second place is ranked by the head of the National Liberal Party Krin Antonescu with 22.9% of the vote.
The three leaders are closed by the former Bucharest Mayor Nikusor Dan, who was presented as an independent candidate. He received 20.9% of support. He is followed by the chairman of the Social Democratic Party, Victor Ponta and Elena Laskoni from the Centrist “Union of Preservation of Romania”, which gained 14.7% and 4.4% of the vote, respectively.
Exitpol InsCop showed that Simion won 36.2% of the vote and Antonescu and Dan – 21.5% and 20.6%, respectively. The publication noted that both exit polls do not take into account the diaspora.
“Today, the Romanian people have said. It is time to be heard, despite the obstacles, despite manipulation … Romanians rebelled,” Simion said in his first appeal after the vote was completed.
In his speech, the politician said that he would remain a devoted Cellena Georgescu, who was forbidden to participate in elections because of criminal accusations related to campaign financing and membership in the Nazi organization.
Moreover, Simion is forbidden to enter Ukraine and Moldova. It is envisaged that this is due to the territorial claims that the Alliance for the Combination of Romanians.
