Another meeting on reforming the system of medical and social expert commissions was held under the chairmanship of the deputy head of the Office of the President Iryna Vereshchuk.
It was attended by representatives of relevant ministries, the Pension Fund, the State Employment Center, the Fund for Social Protection of Persons with Disabilities, as well as public organizations that care for people with disabilities.
The focus of attention is the legislative work on the reform of the MSEK in order to implement the relevant decree of the President of Ukraine and the decision of the National Security Council.
During the meeting, they discussed draft law No. 12209 developed by the Ministry of Social Policy on social support of Ukrainian men and women with limited working capacity, in particular people with disabilities. It was recommended to finalize it, and to hold a proper discussion with the public before putting it to a vote in the Verkhovna Rada.
Particular attention was paid to draft law No. 12178 on the introduction of assessment of the daily functioning of a person. Representatives of the Ministry of Health reported on the state of its preparation for the second reading. The parliament can adopt this draft law as early as next week.
The representatives of the government also emphasized that after the adoption of changes to the legislation, Ukrainian men and women who previously legally received statuses and corresponding payments will keep them for themselves.
