Five border guards were detained in the Lviv region, which contributed to the illegal departure of conscript men through one of the checkpoints. The State Bureau of Investigation conducted more than 40 searches within the case.
According to the DBR, employees of one of the border units of the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service, acting in martial law, violated the rules of verification of documents on the border with Poland.
They did not check the data in the databases, did not enter information about the border crossing and actually allowed those who had no right to leave Ukraine.
The investigation found that at least 80 men aged 18 to 60 were illegally crossed by officials.
At the beginning of September, all five were detained on suspicion of violation of the rules of border service and illegally transporting persons across the state border. Everyone has chosen a pre -trial detention measure, under the articles of the Criminal Code there is a punishment of up to 10 years in prison.
In addition, the investigation checks the involvement of the border detachment and the source of the origin of assets of one of the commanders, including apartments, house, land, valuable cars and significant cash, the value of which exceeds the declared income.
