In the European Commission, the Fitzo threats to block the 18th Package Against Russian

The main spokeswoman for European Commission Paul Pinho at a briefing in Brussels on June 11 reported that in order to ensure a unanimous vote of all EU Member States for the 18th Package of Sanctions against Russia, the EC will discuss with Slovakia its concern about possible problems related to the termination of supply to the EU.

Details: So Pinho commented on the statement of Slovak’s Prime Minister Robert Fitzo that he would block the 18th package of sanctions against Russia until the EU would propose a decision on the “crisis situation” with which Slovakia will face after the complete cessation of imports of Russian energy in the EU.

“In recent years, since the beginning of the war, we have been working closely with all Member States on the gradual refusal of importing fossil fuels from Russia and so far it has been successful,” the European Commission’s chief spokeswoman added.

Paula Pinho reported that the European Commission will soon take a new legislative initiative to complete the rejection of Russian energy in the EU.
