Details: According to the Deputy Prime Minister, who is responsible for the European integration of Ukraine and heads the negotiating team of Ukraine, mechanisms for accelerating integration are already being discussed at meetings with European partners.

“At every meeting, I hear two questions – do we perceive the entire scope of EU law, and do we need accelerated integration procedures,” she said.

Stefanishyna emphasized that the question of readiness to implement the entire scope EU acquisthat is, of EU legislation – standard in negotiations with candidate states, as the EU side must make sure of this, understand where transition periods may be needed, etc.

“But with regard to accelerated integration, this is already something new. We initiated these conversations at one time, and now the EU side is asking us about it,” she explained. Stefanishyna also emphasized that she perceives this as the readiness of the EU to adapt these procedures, as the first steps to speed them up are already taking place.

In particular, the EU is ready to depart from its rules regarding the sequential completion of all stages on the way to membership.

“Unlike the standard approach, we do everything in parallel,” she explained.

As “EvroPravda” reported, at this conference, Stefanishyna had a bet with a journalist about the date of Ukraine’s accession to the EU.

The EU ambassador to Ukraine predicts that Ukraine can join the European Union by 2030.
