From September 1, salaries of educators may increase to 30,000 hryvnias.

The relevant funds have already been included in the draft state budget for 2026.
This was announced by Minister of Finance Serhii Marchenko during the consideration of the state budget project for 2026 in the Verkhovna Rada.
“Currently, the draft budget foresees an increase in salaries from January 1 – from 16.7 to 21.7 thousand hryvnias on average. From September 1, according to the decisions made, the specified amount will be up to 30 thousand hryvnias,” he said.
He also noted that the calculations are still ongoing, and the final figures will depend on what resolutions and decisions the government makes.
“But we have provided sufficient resources. According to our calculations, this will allow, on average, to increase the monthly salary of a teacher to 10,000 hryvnias,” Marchenko added.
Salaries of teachers in Ukraine – the main newsThe teaching profession remains one of the lowest paid in Ukraine. In September, the typical salary of teachers was 12,500 hryvnias, which is 8.7% more than last year (11,500 hryvnias).
In September, it was also reported that the Ministry of Education had developed a new system of remuneration for educators, which provides not only an increase in salaries, but also a change in the principle of accrual. The new system will be introduced gradually and under favorable conditions. To ensure the average salary of a teacher at the level of UAH 24,000, the system needs about UAH 200 billion of additional funds.
The head of the financial committee of the Council, Danylo Hetmantsev, noted that the draft budget for 2026 provided for an increase in teachers’ salaries. According to him, in the final version of the document, it was possible to increase the minimum salaries of teachers to 26,000 without additional burden on the budget.
