It is known that on November 13, the teeth of a boy aged 1 year and 10 months were treated under general anesthesia in Ternopil’s communal dentistry. Due to a drop in blood pressure during treatment, the child was taken to the intensive care unit, where he died. Forensic examination showed that the previous cause of death of a boy from Ternopil Oblast after dental treatment was acute pulmonary heart failure.
The investigation was started according to 2 of Article 140 (improper performance of professional duties by a medical worker) of the CCU. The sanction of this article provides for up to 5 years of restriction of liberty or up to 3 years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to 3 years.
