Local media are spreading smoke from one of the plants, “Taneko” (Tatarstan Oil Refinery Complex). It is claimed that an evacuation is taking place there.
The “Carpet” plan was introduced at Nizhnyokamsk airport before that.
The head of the CPD Andriy Kovalenko reported on the attack on the “Taneko” refinery – one of the largest and most modern refineries in Russia, with the capacity to process more than 16 million tons of oil per year.
Kovalenko’s direct speech: “The plant plays a key role in supplying fuel to the Russian army. Knocking out refineries and oil depots directly affects the ability of the Russian Federation to wage an intensive war.
A past drone attack on a refinery in the spring of 2024 damaged the primary processing unit at the plant.
The distance from the front is more than 1,000 km.”
Prehistory:
- On April 2, 2024, drones attacked Tatarstan enterprises – in Yelabuz and Nizhnyokamsk. The local authorities stated that there were no serious damages, and the technological process of the enterprises was not disturbed. According to the source of “Ukrainian Pravda” in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, this was a special operation by Ukrainian intelligence officers. The drones attacked the factory where Iranian Shaheds are assembled, marking them as Geran-2.
- One drone hit the “Taneko” oil refinery in Nizhnyokamsk and aimed at a technological installation, after which a fire started. UP sources reported that the attack on the oil refinery was a joint operation of the Security Service of Ukraine and the Main Intelligence Directorate of the IOM. According to the UP, a Ukrainian drone hit the primary oil processing unit at the plant.
- Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, emphasized that no foreign weapons were used during drone strikes on objects in the Russian cities of Yelabuga and Nizhnyokamsk.
