“Fighters have begun operations, and ground-based air defense and radar recognition systems have reached a state of readiness. These actions are of a preventive nature and are aimed at ensuring the safety of the airspace and its protection, especially in the areas adjacent to threatened territories,” the message reads.
The Polish Air Navigation Agency, in turn, reported that a decision was made to temporarily close the airports in Rzeszów and Lublin.
“Due to the need to ensure the freedom of military aviation flights, the airports in Rzeszów and Lublin have temporarily suspended aviation operations,” the agency reports.
Another massive Russian attack on Ukraine took place on the night of Saturday. Kyiv was attacked, in particular, by ballistic missiles. According to the latest data, five people were injured.
The last time Poland raised aviation in connection with the combined attack of Russia against Ukraine was on the night of December 23.
On December 25, Poland reported a “tense night” for the military because of a Russian military plane over the Baltic Sea near Polish territory, as well as the intrusion of weather probes with contraband from the territory of Belarus.
