Despite the growing popularity of anti-Ukrainian forces, Polish society in general continues to show solidarity with Ukraine.

In Poland, a businessman creatively The leader of the “Confederation” Grzegorz Braun / photo facebook.com/grzegorz.michal.braunIn Poland, the owner of a hotel “punished” the anti-Ukrainian party “Confederation” by transferring money that the hotel earned from a public event organized by the party to the needs of Ukraine. This is reported by Rzeczpospolita.

It is noted that the party decided to hold one of its events in a hotel complex in the town of Lochów, which is located not far from Warsaw.

Since “Confederation” and its leader Grzegorz Braun are known for their strongly anti-Ukrainian positions, the information about the event caused a wave of indignation among the residents of Lohuv. Several thousand Poles signed a petition asking the owners of the hotel to deny Grzegorz Braun the use of the premises.

In response, the Arche SA hotel chain, which owns the facility, issued a statement explaining that it does not have the right to refuse such an event by law if the customer’s documents are in order. However, the company’s president, Vladyslav Grohovskyi, said that the event held by “Confederation” is “fuel for extremism, fuels the spiral of division and radicalism.”

“Mr. Brown and I are absolutely not on the same page. Therefore, I decided that all funds from this event will be transferred to help Ukraine, which is fighting for survival, and which we have supported in every way since the first day of the war,” he announced.

Anti-Ukrainian sentiments in Poland: the latest newsAs UNIAN wrote, an increase in the number of crimes against Ukrainians is recorded in Poland, mainly based on xenophobia and ethnic hatred. According to the testimony of the victims, aggression is manifested in everyday situations and is accompanied by insults and calls to “return home” or “go to the front”.

Sociologists attribute this trend to a combination of targeted anti-Ukrainian disinformation, including from Russia, and domestic political populism, which spreads false narratives about the “social parasitism” of Ukrainian refugees in the Polish state.

According to experts, a dangerous dualism is forming in Polish society – support for Ukraine as a state is combined with hostility towards Ukrainians as migrants, which can lead to an escalation of violence and even organized attacks.
