According to the report, also in Myrnograd, Ukrainian units are holding defensive lines and eliminating the enemy on the approaches to the city.
The spokesman of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Lykhova, in a comment to the Interfax-Ukraine agency, denied the report of the German publication Bild about the alleged complete capture of Pokrovsk by the Russian forces.
“The position of the Ukrainian command remains stable. The situation in Pokrovsk is extremely difficult. But the Defense Forces continue to hold the northern part of the city roughly along the railway line. Active actions of our units to eliminate enemy cells are also ongoing,” he said.
The Russian side, in particular the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, has repeatedly announced the capture of Pokrovsk. The authorities of Ukraine deny such reports.

Pokrovsk – a city with a population of about 1,250 people (estimated by the local authorities at the end of October, before the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation – more than 60,000) – is an important road and railway junction and was under threat of encirclement by Russian troops for most of the year.
