Primorsky District Court of Odesa found the local resident guilty of Part 1 of Art. 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – obstruction of the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during a special period.
This is reported in the text of the court verdict.
According to the investigation, in the period from December 2024 to January 2025, the woman systematically published videos on her TikTok account that recorded episodes of mobilization activities, in particular, the delivery of summonses and the operation of roadblocks.
The posts were accompanied by comments that, according to experts, could demoralize the population and be used by the enemy to correct actions against Ukraine.
The investigation gathered an evidence base that included publicly available video fragments, an analysis of an account with more than 150,000 followers, as well as data extracted from the accused’s smartphone.
The court agreed with the position of the prosecutor’s office and for the first time recognized TikTok videos as full-fledged evidence in criminal proceedings. The court emphasized that even without direct malicious intent, such actions threaten the defense capability of the state.
The woman was sentenced to five years in prison, but on the basis of Art. 75 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, she was released from serving a sentence with a two-year probationary period. Responsibilities include regular attendance at the probation authority and notification of a change of residence, work or study.
Previously, the Primorsky District Court of Odesa set bail in the amount of 20 million hryvnias for Yevhen Borisov, the former military commissar of the Odesa region, in the case of the voluntary abandonment of the unit.
The former mayor of Odesa, Gennady Trukhanov, was placed under a preventive measure in the form of 24-hour house arrest with the obligation to wear an electronic bracelet.
