In the Odesa region, in the village of Safyanivska community, an 11-year-old boy committed cruelty by throwing a pet dog off a slope, uncoiling the animal on a leash.

The video of this incident spread on the network, which attracted the attention of law enforcement officers. Police quickly established the identity of the teenager, who explained that he behaved this way due to a lack of awareness of his actions.

Since the boy has not yet reached the age from which administrative responsibility arises, the police drew up a protocol against his mother for improper performance of duties, which can result in a fine of up to 1,700 hryvnias.

Law enforcement officers held a preventive conversation with the boy, his friends and parents, emphasizing the importance of responsible handling of animals.

In Ukraine, cruelty to animals entails both administrative and criminal responsibility, and the case demonstrated the growing public attention to the problem of animal protection.
