As part of countering the illegal cultivation of plants containing psychotropic or narcotic substances, operatives of the Strategic Investigation Department in Odesa Region and investigators of Police Department No. 3 of Odesa District Police Department No. 1 discovered an area with hundreds of thousands of cannabis plants. Almost 7 hectares of land were located on the territory of one of the villages of the Rozdilnian district, a few kilometers from the state border with Moldova
It is noted that the specified area is in permanent use by one of the state forestry enterprises and belongs to the lands of the forest fund of Ukraine.
On the plot of land, where narcotic plants were directly grown, the police found 332,000 hemp bushes, as well as a tractor with a trailer belonging to the forestry industry. The total value of hundreds of thousands of hemp bushes at the prices of the “black” market reaches about 300 million hryvnias. Identified narcotic plants were destroyed
Currently, the evidence base is being collected to bring to justice all persons involved in the organization of illegal cultivation of hemp.
Criminal proceedings under the procedural leadership of the Suvorov district prosecutor’s office of the city of Odessa are being investigated under Article 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, forwarding or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
