“On the territory of the Crimea temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation, the genocide of Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars, who returned to their native land during the independence of Ukraine, is actually going on now,” he said.
Subkh stressed that the detention and arrest of activists, the destruction of national identity are the tools that the Russian Federation uses not only in Crimea, but also in other temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
“This is unacceptable for the modern world and cannot be accepted by a civilized society,” he said.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the world should guarantee collective security, observing the current norms and principles of international law, and “not indulge those who do not want to pay attention to them.”
“We hope that all countries that respect international law and the UN Charter will unite around the implementation of the Peace Formula, which is a single comprehensive vision for ending the war and establishing a comprehensive and just peace. Such implementation is impossible without the active participation of the countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America,” the special representative emphasized.
Separately, he emphasized that after Ukraine opened a number of new embassies, in particular in African countries, active work continues to spread reliable and reliable information about the essence of Russian aggression.
“Despite the war, over the past two years, Ukraine has become significantly more active in promoting Ukraine’s national interests in African countries. It has already started the work of new embassies in seven African countries,” said Subh.
According to him, Ukraine’s relations with Asian countries are no less actively developing, an example of which is the recent visit of the Prime Minister of India to Kyiv, which became the first in the entire history of diplomatic relations between the countries.
In addition, this year the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine conducted four press tours of media representatives from Latin American and African countries to Ukraine, the last of which ends this week.
“We are interested in building support for Ukraine by the civil society of countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. It is very important that experts, public figures, and journalists from these countries take an interest in Ukraine, understand it, participate in such events, and help us convey the truth to our compatriots,” the special representative said.
He also added that the indifference of the countries of the Global South to Ukraine is vividly illustrated by their “worthy representation” at the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland.
