In Mykolaiv, law enforcement officers quickly detained a local resident who reported by phone that he intended to carry out an explosion at one of the Kyiv metro stations.
The police of the Mykolaiv region published information about the incident on Facebook.
According to their data, a call from the 112 hotline was received on January 26 – a man said that he had several kilograms of explosives and was ready to use them in the capital.
The police immediately registered a complaint and started operative actions.
Employees of the Mykolaiv District Police Department, analysts of the Department of Criminal Analysis and the Regional Department of the Security Service of Ukraine were involved in the inspection.
In just a few hours, the law enforcement officers established the location of the “miner” and found out that he was making the call from his own apartment in Mykolaiv.
No explosive objects were found during the search of the 45-year-old man’s home. The detainee could not explain the motives of his actions and refused to give any testimony.
The police say that his act is classified as “a knowingly false report about the preparation of an explosion.”
It will be recalled that three channels of illegal arms sales were exposed in Transcarpathia.
An agent of the KGB of Belarus, who was acting under the guise of a journalist, was also caught in Kyiv.
