On January 5, a fire broke out in the building of the district court in Mykolaiv, which, according to the police, was caused by an 18-year-old boy.
This was reported by the press service of the Main Department of the National Police in the Mykolaiv region.
According to law enforcement officers, the court building on Samoilovicha Street caught fire. After the examination, it was established that the cause of the fire was deliberate arson.
With the help of surveillance cameras, it was possible to establish the identity of the intruder. The boy was detained in a rented apartment.
“The police established that an 18-year-old resident of Mykolaiv fulfilled the order. He chose an administrative building, bought a hammer and flammable substances in advance, and then set fire to it. He recorded his actions on video and gave it to the customer as a report, receiving a monetary reward for it,” the police said.
The boy was charged under Part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Intentional destruction or damage to property). He faces up to 10 years in prison.
