It is reported that water and heating have disappeared, and the movement of metro trains, trolleybuses and electric trains has also stopped.

DTEK said that in Kyiv and Kyiv, Odesa, and Dnipropetrovsk regions, emergency power outages were applied.

“Emergency shutdowns have been applied at the command of Ukrenergo. We remind you that schedules do not operate during emergency shutdowns,” the press service informs.

It is also reported about interruptions with electricity, water and heating in a number of regions of Ukraine. Oblenergo announced an emergency power outage in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Zhytomyr, Mykolaiv, and Poltava regions.

“According to the instruction of NEC Ukrenergo, 10 phases of the Schedule of Emergency Shutdowns have been applied simultaneously in Chernihiv Oblast,” Chernihivoblenergo said in a statement.

Schedules of emergency shutdowns for 1-5 queues of consumers have been introduced on the territory of Sumy Oblast. The reason is damage to the power system as a result of attacks by the Russian army.

“Mykolaivoblenergo” was informed about the blackout of dozens of settlements, tens of thousands of consumers without electricity.

In the Poltava Oblast, Oblenergo received a command from NEC “Ukrenergo” to apply 6-10 rounds of emergency shutdowns.

Power outages affected even Moldova. The country’s Ministry of Energy reported a voltage drop and blackout due to problems in the Ukrainian energy system.

“Due to serious problems in the Ukrainian power system, on the morning of Saturday, January 31, the voltage dropped on the 400 kV line Isakcha-Vulkaneshti-MGRES, which caused a damaged shutdown of the power system. The operator of the electricity transmission system, Moldlectrica, is working to rectify the situation, the voltage has already been restored in some settlements,” the message says.

Updated at 12:20 p.m. The Ministry of Energy announced the use of emergency shutdowns in some areas and noted that power will be restored within the next 2-3 hours.

“According to the command of NEC Ukrenergo, emergency power outages have been implemented in Kyiv, Zhytomyr and Kharkiv regions. According to experts’ forecasts, the power supply will return within the next 2-3 hours,” the agency said in a statement.

Problems in the power systemIn the capital, the movement of trains and the operation of subway escalators have been temporarily suspended due to the loss of voltage. It is also reported about the metro stop in Kharkiv, trolleybuses in other cities.

Oleksandr Kharchenko, director of the energy research center, previously predicted that Kyiv may return to traditional blackout schedules in 2-3 weeks.
