According to the Deputy General Director of the Lviv Regional Center for Control and Prevention of Maria Ozirkovskaya Diseases, monitoring data indicate that the incidence of influenza and SARS increased by 22% last week (compared to last week).
“The excess of the epidemic threshold of incidence by 46%is also registered. This corresponds to a high level of intensity of the epidemic process, ”she added.
The expert said that in the last week, more than 15,000 cases of influenza and SARS have been recorded in the Lviv region. At the same time, most of them (53%) are among children of school age (5-14 years).
“Today, there are 177 people in the hospitals of the region. And only yesterday (February 16, – Ed.) 85 people were still in the regional infectious hospital,” the official said.
Ozirkovskaya added that the population of the region continues to be vaccinated and as of now the number of vaccinated persons is more than 15.5 thousand.
“Given the rapid spread of the epidemic process of makeup on makeup and SARS, the Lviv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention proposes to introduce a number of restrictive measures – for educational institutions, health care institutions and all residents of our region,” she stressed.
The speaker has specified that according to the virological laboratory, last week 50% of the studied samples contain influenza A and influenza B.
Meanwhile, the director of the Department of Education and Science of Lviv Ova Oleg Paska reported that all schools of the region are temporarily suspended.
The quarantine introduced will last from Tuesday, February 18, until Friday, February 28. During this period, students of the region will be trained remotely (online).
Citizens were explained that after two weeks of monitoring the epidemic situation, a decision would be approved to continue or terminate restrictive measures.
