On July 4, the Executive Committee of the Lviv City Council made a decision to start the development of a pro-estimate documentation for the construction of the Lviv Military Memorial at the Lychakiv Cemetery.
In the first stage, the plan of organization of the territory of the historical and cultural reserve “Lychakiv Cemetery” will be formed. The customer of the works is determined by LKP “Museum of Lychakiv Cemetery”. The company must receive the original data for the projection, conclude a contract with the winner of the All -Ukrainian Architectural Competition and undergo the necessary examination.
“For more than a year, we held meetings with the families of the dead military, gathered proposals, thoughts. The presentation of the concept of the memorial has taken place, and now we are going to practical implementation. The project involves a clear spatial organization of burials, the central alley of memory and a place for a quiet stay near the graves, ”said Yevgeny Boyko executive committee.
In the first stage, a sketch project will be created worth 800 thousand UAH, on the basis of which they will subsequently develop a complete pro-estimate documentation. Architects Elena and Dmitry Rifshneiders also prepare samples of tombstones from different materials – to choose the best option for the future memorial.
