Literally DTEK: “On the night of February 6-7, the Russians attacked the power system. Two thermal power plants of DTEK and key high-voltage substations were damaged. Due to the damage to the high-voltage substations, the nuclear power plants were forced to unload. Ukraine lost a significant part of the available electricity.
The system works with maximum restrictions. The usual schedules do not work.
The most difficult is in Kyiv. Due to long-term attacks on the infrastructure, there is now light for one and a half to two hours a day. Difficult days are ahead.”
Details: The message emphasizes that the energy companies DTEK, Ukrenergo and Kyivteploenergo are working continuously to restore the electricity as soon as it becomes possible.
At the same time, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine reported on the results of the meeting of the Headquarters for the elimination of the consequences of emergency situations in the capital and Kyiv region.
Literally the Ministry of Energy: “The power situation remains extremely challenging. The loss of power due to the overnight attack has created an additional significant power deficit that is extremely difficult to bridge, so the coming days will be difficult.
Currently, residents of the capital receive electricity only for a short period of time – for one and a half to two hours. The utilities are doing everything they can to balance the system, and the city is deploying additional resiliency hotspots in every neighborhood to keep people supported.”
