In the Shevchenkiv district of Kyiv, the police detained a 54-year-old man suspected of murdering his wife. A woman who moved to the capital from Odessa died during a quarrel over jealousy.

The other day, the Kyiv police received a report about the murder of a woman in one of the apartments of the Shevchenkiv district. At the scene, law enforcement officers found the body of a 45-year-old local woman with strangulation marks. During the investigation, the police found out that the 54-year-old husband of the deceased was involved in the murder.
The investigation established that the perpetrator married the victim about six months ago. The woman moved to the capital from Odessa.
“During the entire married life, conflicts between a man and a woman constantly arose due to jealousy and domestic problems. Therefore, during another quarrel, the man threw the woman on the bed and strangled her with his hands,” the report says.
The figure was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Investigators of the Shevchenkiv police department, under the procedural guidance of the Shevchenkiv district prosecutor’s office, informed the detainee of suspicion under Part 1 of Art. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – deliberate murder. He faces up to 15 years in prison for what he did.
