The associate professor promised help with a diploma for money: he was arrested

In Kharkiv, an associate professor of one of the local universities demanded money from a student, promising to influence the decision of the examination board during the diploma defense.

Now he is in custody reported in the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the investigation, the teacher knew about the master’s student’s difficulties with independent performance of the work, so he offered to “solve the issue” in exchange for a monetary reward.

At first he valued his “services” at $500, and later increased the amount to $600.

Law enforcement officers detained the associate professor while receiving the funds. He was informed of the suspicion of obtaining an illegal benefit – part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The teacher was chosen as a preventive measure in the form of detention.

He faces from 3 to 8 years in prison with confiscation of property.
