Literally: “The tragic event happened today at about 18.00 in Izmail. Previously found that on the outskirts of Izmail, the employees of the patrol police response sector stopped a 45-year-old moped driver to check documents. The man behaved aggressively, got a weapon and started shooting.”

Details: It is reported that as a result of the shooting one of the law enforcement officers was injured. In response, the police officer used a sheet and injured the attacker.
Both were hospitalized, but the senior police lieutenant died in hospital.
The attacker with gunshot wounds is currently in the hospital. He was detained in a procedural order.
Police investigators started criminal proceedings under Art. 348 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer, a member of public formation for the protection of public order and state border or serviceman). The person is threatened with life imprisonment.
