To hide these transactions, the defendants used at least a front company in Lübeck, front clients in the European Union and beyond, and a Russian company as a recipient in which one of the detainees holds a senior position.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine, the network has purchased goods worth at least 30 million euros. Their recipients were 24 registered arms manufacturers in Russia. According to the prosecutor’s office, Russian state institutions are also suspected of involvement in this procurement network.
Currently, law enforcement officers are looking for five more suspects who belong to the organization.
It will be recalled that in January, Germany reported the detention of a woman with Ukrainian and German citizenship on suspicion of espionage. After that, Germany sent an employee of the Russian Embassy accused of espionage. Embassy of the Russian Federation called the accusation a “provocation”.
Earlier it became known that the Federal Prosecutor’s Office of Germany brought charges to Ukrainians Danylo B. and Vladyslav T. in an attempt to send parcels with explosives on behalf of the Russian special services.
