The incident happened in the resort town of Batumi. The injured inspectors of the patrol service were taken to the hospital.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a call through the 112 center about inappropriate behavior of a person was received on January 20 from Komakhidze Street. When the patrol arrived at the scene, he attacked the policemen with a knife.
It is currently known that the attacker was born in 1998 and has been diagnosed with a mental illness.
A case has been opened for the attack on the police, the investigation is ongoing.
