“We met NABU today, we have serious concern and intention to discuss these events with the government’s leadership,” the statement reads.
Diplomats reminded that they support “transparency, independent institutions and proper governance” and value partnerships in Ukraine “to combat corruption”.
In the morning, the SBU conducted a number of employees of the National Anti -Corruption Bureau as part of an operation to “neutralize Russian influence on NABU”.
Within these actions, one of the heads of interregional departments of NABU detectives Ruslan Magamedrasulov was detained on suspicion of economic activity with Russia.
An employee of the NABU Central Office, suspected of espionage for Russian special services, was also detained.
NABU complained that the employees of the bureau were applied, and investigative actions took place without a court order. They also stated that there was no evidence of the participation of the detained employee of the department in anti -state activity.
In parallel, the Specialized Anti -Corruption Prosecutor’s Office claimed that the SBU had access to all NABU special operations. The SBU was later denied.
