The Central Military Medical Commission has started the review and cancellation of illegal decisions on unfitness for military service, which were issued in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
This was the result of an investigation initiated by the State Bureau of Investigation.
According to the SBI, part of the conclusions of the VLK were based on forged medical documents issued for persons who tried to avoid mobilization.
The first decisions based on falsified certificates have already been annulled.
The investigation established that the scheme was organized by employees of several district military medical commissions in collusion with a former medical worker of one of the local hospitals.
They looked for men who wanted to avoid service and offered to issue fictitious health documents.
Anyone willing could “buy” unfitness by paying from 5 to 20 thousand US dollars – depending on the specified diagnosis and financial capabilities.
According to the SBI, at least 60 people received the status of unfit for service under this scheme. The law enforcement officers continue to collect evidence and identify all those involved.
Suspicion has already been reported to several persons involved in the preparation of forged documents. In addition, additional checks are being carried out on other VLC findings issued in the region in previous months.
