“In another attack on Ukraine, Russia used North Korean KN-23/24 missiles: experts analyzed specific characteristics During the attack on November 13, Russia used North Korean KN-23/24 ballistic missiles. KNDISE experts discovered specific features of this weapon, including atypical welding and a unique metal composition.”, — write on: unn.ua
“Now we are conducting several examinations of parts and fragments of North Korean KN-23 missiles and their analogues. The research is ongoing, but there is no doubt that these are precisely North Korean weapons. Their feature is a large explosive part (about 500 kg and there are probably several modifications) so in the event of an explosion almost everything is destroyed, only parts and fragments remain.
Parts of the jet engine with specific markings, fasteners, steering gear drives, bearings and some fragmentary microelectronics have so far been identified. The welding of the structure and the composition of the metal, which has unique visual and elemental characteristics, which is confirmed by chemical research, are also atypical for Russian rockets,” KNDISE reported.
According to experts, KN-23 combines both modern technologies and solutions of the last century. A significant percentage of microelectronics is produced in China, Taiwan, the USA and other countries. Most likely, the launches are carried out from North Korean-made launchers, since it would be much more difficult to adapt Russian systems.
We will remind
On the morning of November 13, Russia launched a combined missile-drone attack on Kyiv that lasted more than 2 hours. It was the first attack on the capital in 73 days. The enemy used cruise and ballistic missiles along with Shahed type UAVs, all targets were destroyed by air defense forces.
Let’s add
Earlier, KNDISE specialists talked about the technical features of North Korean missiles, which Russia uses for attacks on Ukraine.
