“The incident happened on Sunday, November 23. The law enforcement officer, being off duty and intoxicated, provoked a conflict with a group of military personnel. First, he opened fire with a machine gun, firing several unaimed shots at the soldiers. After the soldiers disarmed him, the law enforcement officer returned home, took his service weapon and went outside again. Returning to the scene of the conflict, he fired a few more shots at the military, but already aiming for damage,” the SBI said in a statement.
The Prosecutor General’s Office clarified that the police officer fired at least 13 shots.
The law enforcement officer was informed of the suspicion of an attempted murder committed against more than two persons (Part 2 of Article 15, Clause 1 of Part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
