– On January 12, we gather after the vacation, in the next two days, two groups undergo a medical examination, train in Kyiv, and already on the 16th, we leave for a training camp in Turkey. There we will prepare for the UEFA Youth League playoff match with Atalanta, which will take place on February 11 in Manavgat at the Arslan Zeki Demirci Spor Kompleksi field.
– Are any personnel changes planned in the team?
– Information will be provided as soon as we get together. I can’t say anything yet. Now there are certain negotiations, there are positions that need to be strengthened, and some of the players went to training sessions with the first team. The only thing I can say for sure now is that forward Fedor Zadorozhny, who played on loan for Zarya, has returned to us.
– Taking into account that the match with Atalanta will take place on February 11, will there be any changes to the training process during the preparation for the resumption of the season?
– We will purposefully prepare for this game, as well as the opponents for the control matches are selected according to the level of the future opponent in the UEFA Youth League – in particular, we will play sparring matches against adult teams from a number of European championships.
– In general, what was your reaction to the draw? What do you think about the future opponent in the UEFA Youth League?
– Out of all the possible options, we got the most interesting opponent, since the “Atalanta” school is considered one of the strongest not only in Italy, but also in all of Europe. I know from my own experience, as well as from the feedback of coaches who travel to international tournaments, that whenever Atalanta teams of different ages took part in competitions, they always demonstrated a high level of preparation and it was always difficult to play against them.
At the same time, it is always interesting to play with a strong opponent, they face both physically and tactically. This is a worthy opponent, in a match with whom it will be interesting to prove yourself and win, – Kostyuk said.
The match between Dynamo U-19 and Atalanta U-19 will take place on February 11. The meeting starts at 12:00 Kyiv time.
