The volume of primary oil processing capacities idle at Russian refineries increased by 0.62 million tons (+34.4%) compared to the previous plan, to 2.42 million tons in November.
This is evidenced by Reuters calculations based on data from sources in the industry, transmits enkorr.
According to the results of October, the actual idleness of primary capacities amounted to 4.56 million tons, down from the previous estimate by 0.3 million tons (-0.7%).
The increase in production capacity in November compared to the previous forecast was due to the continuation of repairs and technological downtimes of individual primary installations at the Novoshakhtyn, Komsomolsk, Novokuybyshevsk refineries, OrskNOS, NizhegorodNOS and Ufaneftekhim.
However, as noted, taking into account the likely continuation of a number of current repairs and downtimes at primary refinery installations, their volume may increase to 2.7 million tons (+10%) by the end of the month.
The total volume of primary processing at Russian refineries for January-November 2024 reached 39.6 million tons, which is 5.8 million tons (+17%) higher than the figure for the same period last year (33.8 million tons).
We will remind:
There were at least three Russian oil refineries forced stop processing or reduce production volumes due to significant losses against the background of export restrictions, rising oil prices and high credit costs.
