At the same time, approximately 2 million people have already managed to leave and return in the period of 2022-2023 / photo ua.depositphotos.comOf the approximately seven million Ukrainians who are abroad due to the full-scale war, 4.6 million have the status of temporary protection in the countries of the European Union. Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity Ilona Gavronska told about this in an interview with Ukrinform.
“Exact figures should always be updated, but I can roughly say this: out of the approximately 7 million Ukrainians who are abroad as a result of a full-scale war, 4.6 million are under temporary protection in the EU,” she emphasized.
According to Gavronska, according to various studies, approximately 2 million people have already managed to leave and return in the period of 2022-2023.
“In the first two years of the full-scale war, it was very noticeable. Now we observe a certain balance: constantly someone leaves, someone returns. Because of this, the figure of 4.6 million in temporary protection remains approximately stable,” the official emphasized.
Ukrainian refugees abroadEarlier, BILD wrote that payments to Ukrainian refugees are limited in Germany. It is noted that all Ukrainians who arrived in the country after April 1, 2025, will be considered asylum seekers in the future and, accordingly, they will receive assistance in a smaller amount.
Therefore, after the introduction of new rules, the amount of assistance will amount to about 441 euros per month, including 196 euros for personal expenses and 245 euros for food and clothing.
At the same time, Bloomberg reported that hostility and aggression towards Ukrainians is growing in Poland. In particular, half of Poles now believe that the state aid provided to Ukrainians who arrived is too generous.
“Cracks in this solidarity are now becoming more and more obvious, as resistance to support for Ukraine is becoming a central point in the struggle for power in the highest echelons of Polish politics,” the publication added.
