Banks will not be an exception – they will continue to work, albeit on a reduced schedule.We figured out how banks work for the New Year 2025, and which services will be unavailable to Ukrainians.
How banks work on New Year 2025 in UkraineThe National Bank of Ukraine explained how it will work electronic payment system (EPS) during the winter holidays. SEP will continue to be available 24/7, but access to some services will be limited.
On Monday December 30:
- all NBU systems work in normal mode;
- payments in foreign currency from the State Treasury Service of Ukraine through the NBU and JSC “Ukreximbank” are made until 13:00;
- settlements of payments for repayment and service of the state debt between the State Treasury Service and the NBU in national currency are carried out until 4:00 p.m.
On Tuesday and Wednesday December 31 and January 1:
- all systems of the NBU, SEP and the banking system work as usual;
- payment and information messages from and to the address of the State Treasury Service are not accepted through SEP.
“In order to ensure uninterrupted operation of the banking system of Ukraine and proper customer service, banks are obliged to reinforce their cash desks and ATMs with cash of various denominations in advance,” the NBU said.
How Privatbank and Oschadbank work during the New Year holidays“PrivatBank” on New Year’s Day, most branches will work according to the usual weekday schedule from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a lunch break from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Cash registers will be closed at some points on January 1. “Savings Bank” during the winter holidays will also continue to work according to the usual schedule in most branches – from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. without a lunch break at the cash registers. The situation may differ in different regions of Ukraine. The exact work schedule of each point is indicated on the official website.
