Hospital 2025. What are the types of payments due to temporary disability and how to get them

This was recalled in the Main Directorate of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in Zaporizhzhia region.

What are the types of payments due to temporary disability

The Law of Ukraine on Compulsory State Social Insurance provides for the following payments in connection with temporary disability:

▪ temporary disability assistance or ordinary hospital;

▪ Pregnancy and childbirth assistance or maternity (is 126 calendar days);

▪ assistance to the burial of the insured person of a non -vicious age or a family member who was maintained.

The process of payment of temporary disability is as simplified and convenient for insurers and insured persons. The employer can find all the information required for payment of payment on the Pension Fund of Ukraine and remotely submit an application-calculation for its financing.

Payment to the insured person is made Within 3 working days from the date of receipt of the application.

How to get hospital: what actions should a doctor, employer and PFU take

To make the insured person receive hospital payments, employer, doctor and pension fund have to take some actions in such a sequence:

1. The insured person goes to the doctor to establish the fact of temporary disability.

2. The doctor as a result of the examination creates a medical opinion on temporary disability, which is the basis for the formation of a letter of disability.

3. The Pension Fund of Ukraine creates a hospital In the electronic register of disability sheets and transfers it to the employer.

4. Employer in the insurer’s office On the PFC Electronic Services Portal:

▪ receives a letter of disability;

▪ generates a statement of calculation;

▪ directs to PFU.

5. The Pension Fund of Ukraine processes the application-calculation, not later than three days after receipt of the application-calculation finances funds to a separate employer account.

6. The employer pays assistance insured person.

Recall that in April 2025 there were changes in social insurance legislation. From now on, employees will be able to receive temporary disability benefits at both the main place of work and part -time.
