According to the newspaper, Spain law enforcement officers, together with the Civilian Guard, were detained in a difficult joint operation of an 18-year-old hacker, which during 2024 performed at least 40 cyberattacks, in particular on the pages of the Civil Guard, the Ministry of Defense, NATO, the US Army, the UN and various universities.

It is reported that the hacker was put before the court and subsequently released after the confiscation of his passport, so as not to let him leave the country.

The investigation was started in early 2024 after a report on Madrid’s business association leakage, pointing to the origins on the dark network forums, where the suspect used different aliases to hide his mark.

During the searches at the place of residence of the suspect, police found and seized several computers, other electronic devices and 50 cryptocurrency accounts containing different digital assets.
