“After two falls in the seventh round, the referee was forced to stop the fight in Las Vegas”, — write: sport.ua
Former world champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk (21–2, 17 KOs) from Ukraine entered the ring against Radivoje Kalajdzic (29–3, 21 KOs), who represents Serbia.
The Ukrainian confidently started the fight, quickly took the initiative, knocking his opponent down. Kalajdzic got to his feet, tried to level the situation, but was inferior to his opponent in speed and maneuverability.
In the fourth round, Gvozdyk pinned the Serb against the ropes, landed several punches and again forced the referee to open the score. Radivoye managed to recover, turn the situation in his favor and shock the former champion in the seventh 3-minute.
The Serbian boxer knocked down his opponent twice – after the second fall, Gvozdyk looked too difficult, so the fight had to be stopped.
The Ukrainian was defeated, despite the status of the favorite – this failure was the second for the former champion title holder in the last three matches.
Radivoje Kalajdzic (Serbia) – Oleksandr Gvozdyk (Ukraine) – TKO 7/10
