“The GUR clarified that the mass of the warhead is about 90 kg, the declared range of damage is about 1 thousand km”, — write: www.radiosvoboda.org
The agency says that the drone has a length of about 6 meters and a wingspan of up to 5.5 meters. Unlike the previous modifications of the “Geranium” line, the device is made according to the normal aerodynamic scheme. At the same time, most of the key nodes and components are unified with other samples of this series.
“In particular, the use of a 12-channel Comet satellite navigation system, a tracker based on a Raspberry microcomputer and 3G/4G modems, as well as a Telefly jet engine, similar to the one used on the Geran-3 UAV, but with greater thrust, was established,” the intelligence said.
The GUR clarified that the mass of the warhead is about 90 kg, and the stated range of damage is about 1,000 km.
“According to the available information, the enemy is also developing options for the use of Geran-5 from aircraft carriers, in particular Su-25 aircraft, with the aim of increasing the range and reducing the cost of use. The possibility of equipping the device with air-to-air missiles of the R-73 class to counter Ukrainian aviation is being separately considered,” the intelligence agency specified.
The Russian military regularly attacks Ukrainian regions with various types of weapons – attack UAVs, rockets, anti-aircraft missiles, and anti-aircraft missiles.
The leadership of Russia denies that the Russian army during a full-scale war inflicts targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of the cities and villages of Ukraine, killing the civilian population and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply facilities.
The Ukrainian authorities and international organizations qualify these strikes as war crimes of the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are purposeful in nature.
