The Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reports that the railway line was damaged in the Russian Ulyanovsk due to an explosion.

According to the report, the explosion took place on December 14. “Military logistics of the occupying army of the Russian Federation has undergone another complication. The explosion took place in the railway district of Ulyanovsk, on the line near the Sviaga River, a few kilometers from the local locomotive depot and the Ulyanovsk Motor Plant,” the message reads.

The editors cannot yet verify the given data from independent sources. The Russian authorities did not report the explosion. After the publication of the GUR message, the regional management center created by the authorities of the Ulyanovsk region of the Russian Federation announced in its Telegram channel that it “is a fake.” “No events were recorded on the railway, no alarm signals were received,” the report says.

Earlier, GUR stated that on December 13, a fire disabled three locomotives in the Russian city of Krasnodar, and on December 11, two main locomotives of the aggressor state burned down in Bryansk.

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russian regions have regularly come under shelling and drone attacks. The Ministry of Defense of Russia reports on downed missiles and drones over the territory of Russia. Kyiv mostly does not comment on these reports.
