The Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR MO) has launched a website called War&Sanctions. The resource publishes the data of ship captains transporting stolen Ukrainian grain.
This is reported on the website of the Ministry of Defense.
In the near future, sections will be launched on the resource: aircraft, ports, airports, and another such site is planned to be launched for oil carriers.
Having made public the information, the Ministry of Defense of the Ministry of Internal Affairs called for sanctions to be imposed on vessels from the list on the website, as well as on companies and individuals related to them, to prohibit the entry of such vessels into ports, territorial waters, EEZ and international channels, and the sale of spare parts for them.
In addition, the department proposes to apply secondary sanctions against companies and persons cooperating with such vessels and companies.
Among the listed actions that must be implemented: a ban on ship-to-ship operations with Russian fossil fuels in territorial waters and EEZ; the requirement to confirm P&I insurance coverage (capitalized and with an independent credit rating) for all oil tankers entering ports, territorial waters, EEZs and international channels; block passage for violators and ensure compliance with environmental and safety requirements for tankers entering territorial waters, EEZs and international straits.
In addition, the department emphasized that it is necessary to have bank statements when receiving insurance and other services to confirm the implementation of the price cap, to involve financial and specialized institutions in the collection of the evidence base, to make public the results of investigations, to apply real punishments, including significant fines, to prohibit the sale second-hand tankers to the “owning states” of the shadow fleet, apply secondary sanctions to those who violate the ban; stop the registration of vessels that systematically carry out dark activities at sea and exchange information and synchronize efforts with other countries.
Earlier we wrote that in Ukraine, law enforcement officers reported suspicion to the captain of the foreign sea vessel USKO MFU. He exported agricultural products through the closed sea ports of the temporarily occupied Crimea.
The detained captain of the USKO MFU vessel will be tried for illegally entering the port of temporarily occupied Sevastopol, from where he exported Ukrainian grain. He faces 5 years in prison.
