“There was indeed damage (Trypil TPP and Zmiiv TPP – ed.). Colleagues have already started restoration and repairs. I will not divulge the successes we are planning, but recovery work is underway,” she said at the briefing.
The minister noted that there are often cases when the operation of the power plant is stopped, even in manual mode, so that there is no additional damage. According to her, only after analyzing the debris can the condition of the equipment be determined – whether it is possible to restore it and which elements need to be replaced.
“Unfortunately, since the beginning of the war, the thermal power plants of “Centrenergo” have stopped their work several times, then repair work was carried out – they were restored, and then again,” the head of the Ministry of Energy noted.
After the massive Russian attack on the night of November 8, the operator “Ukrenergo” applied measures to limit energy consumption in the amount of two to four shifts. The same restrictions applied on the following days.
According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on November 8, the Russian military launched 45 missiles, of which 32 were ballistic, as well as 458 drones.
Centerenergo said that after this attack by the Russian Federation, the company’s thermal power plants stopped working. The company called the attack “the most massive blow to our TPPs since the beginning of the war.”
The structure of Centernergo includes three thermal power plants: Trypilskaya TPP in Kyiv region, Zmiyivskaya TPP in Kharkiv region and Vuglehirskaya TPP in Donetsk region (on the territory occupied by the Russian Federation), as well as a separate division of Remenergo in Cherkasy.
