Google has released two updated versions of Gemini 1.5 models for developers, promising higher performance and lower costs for creating applications.

Gemini-1.5-Pro-002 and Gemini-1.5-Flash-002 showed improvements in code writing, math, reasoning and video analysis, the company claims. Among other innovations:
- reduced price of 1.5 Pro by 50%;
- twice the speed limit on 1.5 Flash and three times higher on 1.5 Pro;
- twice as fast output and three times less delay;
- updated filtering settings.
Both versions are available through Google AI Studio and Gemini API services.
Snap chose Gemini for multimodalitySnap will add Google’s Gemini multimodal AI capabilities to Snapchat’s My AI chatbot. TechCrunch writes about it.
The firm has entered into an expanded partnership with Google Cloud to increase My AI’s ability to understand different types of information such as text, audio, images and video.
Thanks to the new functionality, users will be able to take a picture of a street sign in another country and ask it to explain or choose a healthy food on the menu.
In February 2023, the My AI chatbot based on ChatGPT appeared in Snapchat. Snap positions him as a virtual friend.

As a reminder, in August, Google added a tool for creating custom versions of Gemini — Gems, and also integrated an image generator with the ability to create people into the chatbot.
Previously, the corporation introduced three new AI-based features for the desktop version of Chrome: the Lens service for image analysis, the Tab Compar shopping assistant, and the integration of natural language for the search history.
