Germany’s Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) has identified and seized the working and backup servers of 47 illegal cryptocurrency exchanges.
According to the statement departments, the listed services were used by operators of encryption viruses, owners of botnets and sellers of darknet marketplaces.
During the operation, law enforcement officers gained access to IP addresses, registration data, and user transactions, which, contrary to the “assurances of the exchange administrators,” were stored on the servers.
The revealed information is used for further investigation of illegal activity.
The BKA page lists 47 exchanges with launch date, number of users and transactions.
Many of the blocked services were Russian-language. The oldest of them has been working since 2015.
We will remind you that at the end of August, the German Financial Supervisory Authority seized 13 cryptocurrency ATMs that were operating without the necessary permits.
