According to him, in Washington he discussed with the US Defense Minister Pete Hegset the full range of potential deliveries from the United States. However, currently only about the participation of Patriot defense systems in them.
“We have agreed not to disclose these plans until it is clear what results will be achieved in the coming weeks. Publicity is not the best approach now. We want to become less predictable in our actions, ”Pistorius stressed.
The minister also warned against hasty assessments on US President Donald Trump’s policy. He noted that the White House rhetoric testifies to the intention to put the financial burden of supplying weapons to Ukraine on European allies.
“Europeans have to open their wallets quickly and decisively. The US is no longer planning to cover these costs, ”Pistorius said.
According to him, the parameters of future procurement are still agreed, and special working groups are already working to reconcile the details within a short time.
