Details: The intention to move the repair center to Germany by December 31 was confirmed by the spokesman of the Ministry of Defense. He pointed to the changing framework conditions and, in some cases, extremely complex repair measures that have to be carried out on damaged machines.

For example, there were differences in the interpretation of European customs rules.

However, the German Ministry of Defense assured that the repair of the equipment provided to Ukraine remains guaranteed.

A repair center in Slovakia has been in place since late 2022 for the Panzerhaubitze 2000, the Dingo armored wheeled vehicle, the MARS II artillery missile system and the Gepard anti-aircraft gun.

There are other repair enterprises of German industry in Lithuania and Ukraine.

In the autumn, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia, Juraj Blanar, stated that his country plans to expand the repair base for Ukrainian military equipment in Michalovtsi.

Prior to that, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal met with his Slovak counterpart Robert Fico in Transcarpathia, after which Ukraine and Slovakia signed a total of four documents.

Shmygal also spoke about the plans for the production of 155-mm projectiles in Slovakia.
